I’m big on Linux. I used Loki’s elemental bone. One of the biggest problems is compatibility. Things that run on Windows or even better on Mac will require hours of searching and compiling, and so on. This thing worked from the first moment. I returned 1 Wi-Fi adapter advertised as compatible with Linux only 2 days ago and I deal with another adapter on my desktop that needs to be recompiled every time I change from one USB port to another. I will probably never buy another one. The only thing is that I would like to be able to choose a version with less antenna. Anyway, who buys is the cheapest. It is not the last. Zexmte AC 600M Dual band USB WiFi adapter (2.4G / 150Mbps + 5G / 433Mbps), WiFi wireless USB key and the latest secure technical support WPS Windows 10/8/7 / XP / Vista Secure Mac OS
I bought this because I received maybe 75 mps with my wifi. I have a wall socket connected to a switch and a router in the computer cabinet in my house. So I connected the Zexmte to the USB port of my laptop and plugged in the backup hard drive, which immediately turned it on. I did a speed test with the wireless adapter enabled, downloading 70 mps. Disable the wireless adapter and the cat5 cable plugged into the new Zexmte Ethernet adapter. A laptop found him immediately and activated it. He drove the speed test on speedtest.net and the return is 326 mps. We have 300 services through Spectrum. So it’s through a professional Orbi router, through a concert switch and the results have been better than expected. When we go to the concert service through Spectrum, I guess it will work as planned. Thanks Zexmte!
In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing drivers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
