I bought this adapter for my mother in law. The ISPs have recently changed and the router interface has changed from wired to wireless. The PC does not have an integrated Wi-Fi adapter, I chose this one to put it back online. The installation could not be easier. I am using Win10 and as soon as I connected this unit, Windows knew what it was and made it work. IN SECONDS! I connected it to a USB 3.0 port and connected it to a 5G network. I see almost 100 Mbps! The installation is easy. Run the installation executable file from the supplied mini disk and then restart your computer. After that, it took approximately 2 minutes to complete the installation, and the system automatically connected to the Wi-Fi network without a password (xfinity, of course). I haven’t tried it yet with a password protected network, but it seems like a simple process, like any computer with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. It’s a little bigger than I’m used to, but be realistic. If you plan to buy this, you have a very old laptop without aesthetics at first, or a desktop computer where you can hide the adapter in one of the rear USB ports. In general, I love it so far, but I will update it if something changes. I have been using it daily for almost three months and it has been almost perfect so far. There were two days when the connection was uncertain and unreliable, but honestly, it’s quite rare that I don’t care about the price. In comparison, I bought some of them from other companies and once it started to happen, it was a rapid decline in total failure. This fine was recovered and still works strong.
