I ordered this because my new HP Mobile OfficeJet did not work in Bluetooth mode with my MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.8. For hours, for a total of two days, I chatted and called HP’s customer service. They sent a new printer, but I decided to order a Bluetooth adapter, based on an index in another revision that I had read, in case the problem arose on the Mac side. All I had to do was connect this adapter to a USB port on the Mac, and go! It took me a few minutes, but I could see and print in the printer. (And the Mac still could not see the new printer in Bluetooth mode, without this adapter).
Without configuration, there is no problem. Then I could also print from my iPhone. I will say that the adapter was much smaller than expected, about the size of a scrabble tile! I hope it does not get lost. It was not even in a box, only in a plastic bag with a mini CD. I’m a little afraid of getting it out of the USB slot, but I need the port, the printer is designed to travel and does not need to be constantly connected. I will try this with my Win 7 or XP system below, just to see if it works so well with those, but even if it is not, I’m a good camper.Although the adapter does not look anything like this image (it probably shows a previous model / version), it works long enough for what I use (to print). I plan to add additional services (Bluetooth for my phone to send contacts to my computer, etc.), but I have not had time yet. It was also easy to configure. Thanks for a good product that worked the first time!

In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing drivers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
