I use this product with my Macbook Pro 2015 OSX El Capitan 10.11.5. and it works so well that I bought a newer WF 2561 for the house. The caravan park where we were staying had a Wifi service, but due to the distance of the trees, I could not even download emails. We have been using the high gain adapter tp-link t4uh for some time now. I play a lot and download a ton, so discovering speeds of 5GHz was a real advantage. I started with the netgear AC1200 which was horrible. to $ 70, it was not worth it, because it fluctuated so much that I went from the maximum speed to 6 Mbps with a consistency of around 300. The tp link was better, giving me a speed of about 500 mbps, but one ton was disconnected and , at the beginning, performed a cycle of disconnection and reconnection for at least 20 minutes. This adapter for $ 21 (Amazon sale) is perfect. Absolutely great for its cost. I regularly get 650Mbs through 3 walls and all the way down. There are also no problems with disconnections such as the tp link. It works perfectly with the software provided with Windows 10.
This product works. I tried another 2 Hawking devices. I just threw them. It’s not worth spending hours with a well-meaning technician trying to fix a machine that can not be repaired. But it worked immediately, which created minimal confusion about how to configure it. It shows a signal of less than 40% and the quality of the link is greater than 80%. – Now I have Internet where I do not have one, and I’m in Afghanistan, so this is important. Good job Netis!
In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing printers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
