High quality and great performance! Driver installation (Windows 7 x64) loaded without problems. The fact that it supports the 802.11n MIMO 3×3 standard up to 450 Mbps (in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands) is fantastic! I highly recommend this device for Wi-Fi USB until there is a true ratification / standard for 802.11ac and 802.11ad. Currently, any device that claims to be 802.11ac and / or 802.11ad is based on a prototype / specification that has been partially ratified and, as happened with 802.11n devices built in the same way, could end up with more problems. And future incompatibilities!
I strongly recommend to anyone who is currently seeking compliance with the 802.11n standard that they purchase a wireless / wireless router that supports the 802.11n standard in the 5 GHz band to pair with this USB device. It works very well so far. The included extension cord and stand are only 3 feet long, which is short for easy repositioning on my desk. I had another 6 feet that I used instead. Sensitive to administration, direct editing on PC is not a good idea, unless you are in the same room as your router. Mine is in the computer of my separate garage, a hundred feet away and some walls, and I get a 216 MB connection with 3 bars in Win8.1, if I handle the dongle correctly. I tried adding a USB extension cable to the provided media to extend it, but the connection was interrupted during long downloads. When using a single extension cable works very well. It gets double the bit rate compared to my old Linksys 54G with WRT flash as a bridge with high gain antennas, so I’m impressed.

In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing drivers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
