I am writing this review of the bedroom where I could never get a wifi signal on my hp laptop. I just received this today and I followed the instructions that Alan RC published previously and it works very well. I would have had no idea how to update the drivers if there had not been this publication. I have Windows 10, so at first I did not receive the signal. I really recommend it since I had a lot of trouble getting an Internet connection and now it works fine. Now I’m in school with many online courses, which have become a lifesaver, so I’m not stuck in uncomfortable places in the house trying to get a signal.
Absolutely the best wireless adapter I’ve used. Very easy to install, it has the best range of all the wireless adapters I have used (Linksys, Netgear, Belkin or TP-Link). This replaces my Belkin N300 wireless adapter and this Net-Dyn has a much better range. I have a friend who has a Dell SOHO router and lives about 3 blocks from me. None of the other brand adapters I used in the past would recover the SSID from my friend’s router, much less go from one end of my house to the other. I have a two-story house and the router and the adapter I use are at opposite ends of the house (2600 square feet). With this Net-Dyn, for the first time, I have a reliable connection to my home router with excellent performance and I can connect to my friend’s router, 3 blocks away, and get a decent connection.

In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing printers in the Windows Help file.
