Lenovo does not provide the Edge E130 with a backlit chiclet keyboard. The concave keys provide a normal fall in length and an open pressure point. The stop of the key also pleased us a lot. The keyboard has been designed for users who need to write a lot. The sufficient size of the input keys, the backspace and the right key is also good and allows an accurate writing. This is remarkable because we have seen Lenovo’s poorer units. These keys are too small on Lenovo’s large laptops, such as the B575e or the B580. The ThinkPad Edge offers two options for mouse control. One is the ClickPad and the other is the TrackPoint. The size of the ClickPad multi-touch 3.7 x 7.4 cm keyboard is extremely small. Around 1.5 cm more would have been possible. However, this room is reserved for the TouchStick mouse keys. The rough surface does not prevent the fingers from sliding. Simple touch gestures can be activated and deactivated in the configuration menu. The ClickPad has a short fall and a clearly audible and palpable pressure point. The mouse cursor can be moved well using the TrackPoint. The corresponding mouse keys have an average low point and an open pressure point. The three keys are pleasantly quiet. The 11.6-inch matte screen on the ThinkPad Edge uses a native resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Other screen templates are not available. The average screen brightness of 218.9 cd / m² is that of the midfielder. The screens of VivoBook (197.1 cd / m²) and TravelMate (174.9 cd / m²) are not as bright as the ThinkPad screen.
The Edge E130 does not provide outstanding rates with a contrast of 228: 1 and a black value of 1.04 cd / m². The VivoBook (332: 1, 0.65 cd / m²) and the TravelMate (225: 1, 0.8 cd / m²) are not particularly good either. The ThinkPad screen can not reproduce the sRGB or AdobeRGB color spectra. We evaluate the screen in its delivery state (target color space: sRGB) and register the naked holes in DeltaE 2000 in most colors (DeltaE greater than 10). Only the target remains in the target zone (DeltaE less than 5). The screen has a bluish dominant visible. The maximum brightness of the screen is 177 cd / m² in battery mode. As you can see in the screenshot, it is difficult to see something on the screen outside. It is unfortunate that Lenovo is installing a screen on a small laptop that is virtually useless outside buildings. The stability of the viewing angle of the screen is poor. The image is distorted quickly when the vertical viewing angle is changed. The content remains legible horizontally until an inclination of almost 180 degrees from the sides. However, the image darkens slightly.
