Most of the five-star reviews for this product come from people who received the product for free or at a discount, in order to provide favorable reviews and improve the classification of the products. These criticisms are too numerous (just look at the number of stars and the profile of the critics to prove it). Normally, I fear the products with this type of revisions, but at this price (<20 dollars and free shipping with bonus), I decided to try my luck and bought the item (at the price, without incentive from the seller or the manufacturer). If you look at my previous reviews, you will see that I bought (even at a high price) and reviewed at least four other network adapters in recent months.
Unfortunately, to date, I am disappointed with all these products and have all returned them (thanks to Amazon for the good return policy). I tried to upgrade a Rosewill N adapter that offered good speeds, but I did not take full advantage of the network speeds of the AC routers. The purchase of the AC adapter EDUP 600 finally allowed me to do it almost. I have a Linksys EA7500 router capable of operating at 1,300-speed AC and an RA6500 repeater capable of 867-speed AC, so the speeds promised by the AC adapter EDUP 600 are certainly possible in my network. Although I have not yet reached the promised 600 Mbps adapter, I have doubled the speeds of the Rosewill N adapter from 144 Mbps to approximately 325 Mbps for the EDUP power adapter. Since I bought it a few weeks ago, the EDUP adapter is in constant use, with no connection or loss of connection. I think it’s quite remarkable, since the adapter is located on a floor and about 20 feet from the router, and on the same floor, but about 30 feet from the extender in a house of almost 3,000 SQFT. Receive four stars for poorly written and translated instructions, as well as obsolete driver disk and configuration requirements. If you are using Windows 10 or 7, recommend Windows to find and install the drivers and use the Windows WLAN administration utility instead of the Realtek klunky utility on disk. I tried EDUP on a Windows 10 desktop and a Windows 7 HTPC without any problems.

In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing printers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
