I bought this product last week, after I fry the wireless receiver on my laptop with a drink spill. I am using a classic MacBook Pro 2013 that has been upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6. I looked for several USB wireless receivers that were looking for a receiver that indicated that it worked specifically with this version of the software, but most stopped to say they were working with 10.13.4. This had a comment that said it worked with this operating system, so I went with this. I use it for a week and I have no complaints. It worked well with this operating system, it was reliable, the installation was quite simple.
The adapter was slow until I looked in kirkd’s “defeat the ‘n’ patch of a Dell forum, there’s not much more to be said about it, except the fact that I only had to handle it when connecting to a new network. I have been using it for about 5.5 months and the only problem I have found is that (recently?) I have to manually reconnect to a network after removing my computer from hibernation mode. After updating the driver, it becomes super fast. I have on a laptop that the internal adapter went wrong. This works very well. I was a little worried about how far I could get out of the way. But as you can see in the picture, it’s not bad at all. USB 3.0 is also good. Pros: works very well. Effective to improve the range and allows my comp to access the 5 GHz signal. Disadvantages: it protrudes approximately one inch from the USB slot of my laptop, which is certainly not huge, but it is enough to be hit and trapped when you use your laptop all day.
