It may just be the antenna, but it works perfectly. I received a WiFi signal of 1 bar in my room above, while the router was down. I connected it to my Windows 10 machine and everything worked without needing to download any driver. I can receive a WiFi signal strength of 4 and 5 bars. It’s fast. Much faster than my 54Mb / s USB WiFi adapter. The price-quality ratio is excellent. Everything loads faster, even on a USB 2. (I only have two USB 3 ports, reserved for SSD backups). I use it with an Asus N56U wireless router only on the 2.4 Ghz frequency due to range problems in the 5 GHz band in general on 12 different devices. I use this for my office on the ground floor and I have not had any problems with the basic functions of the Internet. Obviously, this will not be as fast as a cable connection, but if you only do light Internet activities, this will be perfect for you.
It was beyond my expectations. I have a computer in a place that is on another floor and a little away from my access point. The reception was, at best, uneven, but since I installed this WLAN card, the reception has remained stable and strong. I did not even need the supplied CD because my computer with Win 7 detected it and installed the driver. This is a very good result, this company has placed devices on the motherboards for a long time, such as your 10/100 network connection on your computer. I am happy to have found a 300 Mbps wireless USB port on this site.
In most cases, the Windows drivers found here are “self-extracting” (.exe) files. Click on the desired file. When prompted, set the destination on your desk. Create a new folder and move the file to it. Click on the file to automatically extract the software and the associated files in your new folder. You can also extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Note that these files will only be self-extracting if they are run from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or special directory, locate the installer, usually called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”, and then click on it to start the installation.
Sometimes, there is no installer because you have to install your driver through the Windows “Add a device” function. You can find instructions for installing drivers in the Windows Help file. Our Mac OSX files are also self-extracting. These files must be downloaded and executed in the same way. The installer will be present on the desktop once completed: click on it and follow the instructions to install it.
